City defines ‘Extenuating Circumstances’ (ECs) as circumstances which are unforeseen and outside your control and which can be shown to have had a direct and substantial impact on your academic results. This may include an impact: on capacity to study prior to an assessment, on ability to complete an assessment, and/or on performance during an assessment.

1 Sanction 1 Reprimand: A formally recorded warning kept on the student’s record. The work should be marked, but the mark may be reduced to reflect a student’s failure to address the assessment criteria in areas of collation of sources and their citation. 正式警告,记入学生档案。作业仍会评分,但可能因未达到来源整理与引用方面的评估标准而被扣分

申诉流程 Appeal

学生通常可以按 Academic Appeals Regulation 提交上诉;若学术不诚信案件被处以 Sanction 5(转交纪律或职业适任程序),学生须在该 Sanction 发出后的20个工作日内提交上诉,且理由限于“material error”。其他 Sanction 1-4 通常在评估委员会确认后,按学术申诉规定的时限上诉。
